Why is the “Compass IoT Suite” solution preferred in the context of Industry 4.0?

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Operational efficiency and corporate mind are an integral part of what we need today, as well as what Industry 4.0 requires. To meet such needs, Data Market developed Compass IoT Suite, one of the operational efficiency and enterprise intelligent solution sets. Basically, Compass IoT is a platform that aims to facilitate, accelerate and activate the process of stepping into Industry 4.0.

When we were searching for the potential of IoT in different segments, we received more positive feedback from the general industry. When we consider it that way, we focused on how to bring more added value or benefit to this segment. When we take a look, the companies in the industry have developed their competencies in mechanics, mechatronics, party electronics, and with the muscles they have developed in time, they have become capable of producing competitive products and selling them to the world and Turkey. Yet, technological developments and trends and what we call Industry 4.0 pushes organisations to develop their competencies in information processing, use, production and analysis; namely to develop their IT competencies along with their mechanics and electronics competencies. The fact that the manufacturers have not been able to develop their muscles for information technologies over time may cause them to remain in the background when it is brought up in the international market. We have come to this information via the feedback we received from the companies that we are in contact with and the output of market researches. And, as a result, we have focused on how manufacturers can more easily achieve the value that Industry 4.0 promises in the market and effectively obtain their IT technologies competencies.

Hence, Compass IoT Suite was developed with this vision in mind. We offer Compass IoT Suite basically in two parts. One of them is what we call Compass Connected and Smart that targets machine manufacturers. The other is what we call Compass Industry IoT that targets production facilities. Compass Connected and Smart are systems that actually enable machine manufacturers to step into Industry 4.0 rapidly and effectively. It offers a solution equipped with technologies that will meet the practical needs of the manufacturers and enable them to monitor their machines remotely from the moment they start operating on site, where they are installed right after they are taken out of the facility. We collaborate with the machine manufacturers to provide them with certain benefits and we develop an integrated solution with them. One of the most significant benefits is transforming machines into connected and smart lines. What that means is to transform them into a machine that communicates with us and reports to us the current situation and problems that it faces. A second major benefit is that we can easily and effectively collect the data of the machine and securely transmit it to our Compass IoT platform running on our cloud environment. We process the data we collected into easily understandable, analysable, and advantageous outputs. We offer this through easy-to-understand interfaces to machine manufacturers’ operational teams or their customers via web and mobile interfaces.

The structure I have described so far is actually the structure where all data of a machine is analysed and presented to produce useful output and the information is made available to use; like the machine’s black box. Naturally, after monitoring, certain awareness are developed or certain situations are recognised. These are situations such as misuse of the machine or slippage in performance due to deviation of the dynamics. In such cases, the Connected and Smart structure within the Compass IoT Suite platform transmits these deviations or warnings in machine data to the machine manufacturer’s service support team or the customer’s operation support team or related teams with messages and warnings. These transmitted messages are recorded and enable the relevant people to be informed before the problem occurs. Of course, if this is related to a problem and a remote intervention is required, it can also record the changes of the physical world in accordance with the intervention type. For instance, we allow the recording of changes such as re-calibrating a module or repairing a defective product. Therefore, we use this data to identify machines that might have the same conditions and are at risk of having similar problems, by comparing the data with similar data from other machines of the same type from the same machine manufacturer. We share this information with the officials of the related manufacturer and enable necessary precautions to be taken before the problem occurs.

When you take an end-to end look, the machine manufacturer not only transforms the machines into smart and connected lines, but, he also favours the customers by utilising these features and decreases his own operational costs. Therefore, the manufacturer becomes competitive, insightful and competent in making future decisions based on the data in the Industry 4.0 world.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1568287693537{margin-bottom: 2rem !important;}”][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zu4V4mhCf_Y”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/6″][vc_single_image image=”14241″ img_size=”100×100″ alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”5/6″][vc_column_text]
